The primary missions of the AVSA are to promote safe and responsible snowmobiling in the Grayling area, and to develop, improve, and maintain the local trail systems.
We do a large amount of work on the trails in the Grayling area, including:
- Brush Clearing
- Grading / Leveling
- Daily Grooming in the Winter
This work is primarily done by the members of the AVSA, and on a Volunteer basis. We are not paid individually to do this work. The club is reimbursed by the state of Michigan for some equipment and fuel costs.
Again, our club’s groomer drivers (and most of those in the state of Michigan) are volunteers. Be nice to them!
We keep in contact with the DNR and local law enforcement and EMS agencies to monitor issues that affect snowmobilers and the community. Through the Michigan Snowmobile Association we monitor legislative and regulatory changes that affect snowmobiling, and work to promote and protect the rights of the snowmobiling community and the resources we enjoy.
