Greetings Sledders,
We continue to have a mixed bag of trail conditions ranging from poor to good.
My fear is that the trails that are currently fair to good could take a hit this week with the warm up that seems to be a sure thing based on all of the weather forecasts that I’ve looked at.
There is some snow in the forecast that will help to offset the day time losses but will it be enough?
The next 6 days are going to be above freezing with the highest temps hitting us on the weekend which are the worse possibly days. Timing is everything and any time we get a warm up on the weekend it spells potential disaster.
The trails around Grayling have been fragile all year due to the lack of replenishing snows and if they get mushy and traffic is added we could be in trouble.
I’m not going to play prognosticator and predict what the week and weekend are going to look like at this juncture. Just be aware that the conditions could sour quickly especially over the weekend if there is substantial traffic.
Ride Often and Please Be Safe,
Keith
