In the interests of consolidating local trail report sources and doing the best job at providing timely updates, we're combining our reports into those of the Grayling Visitors Bureau. Ilene at the GVB does a good, fair job of updating condition reports several times a week during the season. She gets her information from several sources, including our groomer drivers. She will tell you if conditions are poor, so you can trust these reports.
As always, though, trails are smoothest during the week, Monday through Friday morning. The large amount of traffic on our trails Friday through the weekend worsens conditions. In these periods, the groomers just can't run enough to make the trails perfect. Also, the winding nature of our local trails that makes them enjoyable also makes them difficult to groom.
